England Rugby flyers Anthony Watson and Jess Breach have partnered with UK sports nutrition company Maximuscle.

Watson, a British & Irish Lion, has resigned with Maximuscle for a seventh year. The 25-year-old has been with the nutrition company since signing for Bath in 2013 and has enjoyed an illustrious career to date winning the Six Nations twice with England.

Watson, talking on his new deal, said: “I’ve been with Maximuscle for much of my senior career and I’m extremely happy to continue this. The past two seasons have been difficult for me due to injury but the team at Maximuscle have been fantastic in supporting me through this, the supplements they have provided me have greatly benefited me in my recovery.”

Watson will be hoping to make the England squad for the upcoming Rugby World Cup in Japan later this year.

Joining Watson as part of the Maximuscle team is England and Harlequins Ladies winger Jess Breach. The 21-year-old has been a revelation for England since debuting on the international stage, kickstarting her career with six tries against Canada.

Breach has become one of the most clinical finishers in the women’s game, scoring in every single game of the 2019 Six Nations to finish as the tournament’s top try scorer with nine.

Breach, speaking on the new partnership, said: “I’m delighted to team up with Maximuscle. Rugby is an extremely physical game but due to the schedule recovery time is very short, the products Maximuscle have to offer will enable me to ensure my body is getting what it needs to be match fit.

I am also looking forward to the direction the brand is going in and what they hope to achieve going forward.”

Maximuscle have developed and reformulated over 60 products including protein bars, ready-to-drink protein shakes, natural bars, energy flapjacks, protein bites and protein dippers, expanding the range from traditional protein powders and bars to on-the-go snacks.

Maximuscle’s innovative approach to nutrition continues to raise the standard across the sector, with new ranges driven by consumer trends and behaviour. All powdered products are free from artificial colourings, flavourings and thickeners, and many are suitable for people with intolerances, allergies and specific lifestyle choices, such as vegetarians, vegans and gluten and lactose intolerants.

Dan Wood, Maximuscle Sales Director, added: “We’re really excited Jess has chosen to join the Maximuscle team. She is an exceptional rugby player with a very bright future within the sport and we’re thrilled at the prospect of working alongside Jess to reach her goals.”
