Good Protein Snacks From Vending Machines

We all eat from vending machines, but choose snacks which are rich in protein and vitamins

Don’t let your diet go to hell just because you have to snack from a vending machine. Here are three good protein snacks you can grab from vending machines.

We’ve all been there: you finish your workout or swim, and you’re in a hurry to get to your next appointment. The only food or drink option is the vending machine in the foyer. What do you go for without feeling you’ve undone all of your good work?

Hydrate

Water is an obvious choice as the simplest way to quench your thirst, and most vending machines have a bottle of still water as an option. If you're looking for a drink with a high sugar content/with sugar, a drink based on natural fruit juices (like Ribena®) is a great option. It also contains added vitamin C, which helps support the immune system.

Savoury Snacks

Instead of a high GI fried snack, like a traditional crisp, look for a baked and whole grain option. Twiglets® are a brilliant example of this. You might also find a packet of protein-providing roasted nuts, and if they’re almonds then you’re on to a winner. These crafty kernels are low in saturated fat whilst being high in calcium and vitamin E.

Sweet Snacks

Cereal bars and especially flapjacks are usually loaded with oats. Cereal bars can often contain protein-rich nuts and more fibre, which make them a great choice when you’re stuck with just a vending machine to choose from.
