Before my daughter came along at the age of 25, I enjoyed tap, ballroom and jive dancing and took full advantage of my health without realising it. I frequently went to night-clubs, disco and conventions and would dance for hours on end.
When my daughter was born I didn't take any notice of my fitness or my figure since I always seemed to have something better to do, like changing nappies, washing up, making up feeding bottles and sleeping whenever I could.
As a single parent things were twice as hard. Although I was fortunate enough to have a job working from home, I soon found that too much and had to give it up. My life revolved around bringing up my daughter and there was no time left for me. It wasn't until she was 2 years old and she started to go to playgroup that I thought about doing anything for myself again. At first, playgroup was only one morning a week, so I would simply go home and collapse for a while. Then it finally grew to four mornings a week, over the space of the next two years. At this point, I bought myself a second hand bike for 15 that had no gears at all and I would cycle around the local country roads. I thoroughly enjoyed these trips and tried to find time to go on as many as I could.
At the age of 4 years old my daughter started school and I then had all day. I kept up my cycling on good days, but did little in the winter.
I hadn't realised how much more I should have been doing until I was involved in a car accident when my daughter was seven. I suffered whiplash from the neck down and felt extremely stiff from head to foot. For the first six months I was given physiotherapy for my neck which showed signs of improvement, but my back pain got worse. It was another six months before another round of physiotherapy was organised for my back - in the meantime I was told to rest and so the cycling stopped altogether. On returning to physiotherapy, the exercises the hospital gave me only made the pain a great deal worse. After a few weeks, I was in agony and found it excruciating to walk even short distances. The hospital told me they thought I had a split disc and there was nothing they could do about it. For about three months, I was under the impression that I to learn to live with the continuous pain and incapacity for the rest of my life.
Not wanting to give up, I decided to ask for a second opinion and was transferred to a back specialist at another hospital. After a thorough examination it was found that there was not a disc problem, but that my back and waist muscles had stopped working properly and my tendons had compensated and took over, which was the cause of the pain. I was so relieved I wanted to cry and I felt I started my life again.
After a further three months learning the new exercises at the hospital I was sent home to continue them there. The nurse had said to me on my final visit, "there is no reason why this should stop you from doing anything you want to do, just go for it!"
At the time my body looked like an unused sack of potatoes and I decided it was time to take action.. I joined the local gym and learned everything I could about my body and how to put it right. Starting off by playing squash once a week, I then built on this by going on the toning tables and eventually the weights. Finally, after four years of pain, at the beginning of this year I went to the gym and returned home pain free.
I no longer look flabby, but toned and slim. At the end of the last school term I was cycling the five-mile trip to the gym and back three times a week and doing a one-hour work out. I often wonder that if I had looked after myself more in the years previously whether I would have had such a severe reaction to the accident.
The only problem I find now is feeling dehydrated and tired, usually in the afternoon or the day after my workout, which is stopping me from going as often as I would like to. Being aware of various products on the market for this problem, I researched the information on many web pages. After sifting through the good from the bad, I found Maximuscle.
I am not looking to be the next Miss Universe but I do want to be fit and healthy. The ingredients in Maximuscle products are exactly what I need to continue towards my ultimate goal. I wish to be as fit as I was when I was 18 years old, to look good and to be able to dance for hours again. I really enjoyed going to the gym and to do so every school day, but am unable to do so without the help of the supplements provided by Maximuscle.
I would recommend regular exercise, a good diet and Maximuscle to anyone. It is never too early to start.
Thank you, Maximuscle, for giving me the one missing ingredient I need to achieve ultimate health and fitness.
