My whole outlook on life has changed...
Back in the summer of 2000, I remember one day just looking into the mirror and thinking to myself "My God Andy, you need to shape up, FAST!". You see, I was 21 years old at the time and was always out at the weekends getting drunk and really not doing much else, as I did not feel that there was anything more to life than going on a jolly! I weighed 14 stone at the time and I am 6ft 2inches tall. To some people this may seem OK, but my body had no definition whatsoever and I felt like an absolute lardy bloater. It was at this stage that I decided to do something about it and embarked on a diet in order to lose weight.
However, the diet I undertook evolved into a serious CRASH diet and I began to skip meals at every opportunity and avoid food like the plague in order to lose those pounds. Within 1 month I had lost more than a stone. It was easily noticed by friends and family and they commented on how much better I looked. Despite the numerous compliments, the ability to avoid meals had a gripping hold on me. Not eating became an everyday occurrence and I became anorexic. After 3 months, I had lost 3 stone and my friends and family were seriously concerned. I went to see my doctor on several occasions to see if there was any way I could get my way out of this! My energy levels were low, my body had become skeletal as a result of my drastic muscle tissue loss. I just broke down and wanted to give up on life completely. In November 2001 with my weight hovering at an unhealthy 10 1/2 stone, my way of life was about to take a dramatic turn for the best!!!
One Saturday afternoon, I picked up a copy of Mens Health & Fitness just to bide some time and noticed a Maximuscle advert stating "Get into shape the easy way". My weight loss had had a serious psychological effect on me and my confidence levels were at an all time low. My self confidence was non-existent and so I decided to purchase the magazine and have a read at home.
I had become particularly curious about the Maximuscle advert and so decided to get a copy of the guide. Upon receipt of this book, I just cannot explain how it happened! From being very withdrawn and lazy, this book gave me the fucking good kick up the arse I needed!!!
I decided that there and then, I wanted to get myself back on the straight and narrow and get myself looking good and feeling confident! I requested a Maximuscle catalogue and began looking through the various supplements that were on offer. Upon joining the nearby Cannons gym in Chelmsford, I consulted one of the fitness trainers and highlighted to him what my objectives were and my main objective was to build solid, lean mass, and lots of it! I was so skinny my clothes just hung off me and it did not look very attractive at all!
I had revised a program whereby I would train six days a week and alternate between weights and cardio. I would like to share my regime with you as I have stuck with it now and it has paid off in a huge way (will come to that shortly).

On Monday I will do my lower body and continue the routine accordingly.
I also mentioned to him that I have been looking at taking Maximuscle supplements as well as whole food as I do not want to feel bloated throughout the day, particularly if I am going to be eating 6 times a day. The instructor told me that he took Maximuscle supplements (Cyclone and Promax) and would recommend them to anyone. He had got pissed off himself that other supplement companies had ripped him off in the past and he truly believed that Maximuscle were in a league of their own.
Once I had completely figured out my training regime and fitness plan, I told my parents what I was embarking on and requested them to purchase lots of chicken, turkey, vegetables, rice, pasta and cottage cheese. They were over the moon that I had found a new challenge in order to overcome my anorexia. The supplements I ordered were Max Meal High Protein, Progain and Cyclone.
To be perfectly honest, it was a painful struggle at first as it was a whole new adjustment to my daily life and was beginning to question myself from the word go. However, I was determined to get myself in the best shape of my life and so commenced on a 5000 calorie a day diet.
I persisted with the regime and my set target each week was to gain 2 lbs of muscle. After the first month, I was amazed when I stood on the scales, I had put on 10lbs of solid mass and it was something that everyone I knew noticed and they were shocked to notice how healthy and good I looked now. Six months down the line, I now weigh 13 1/2 stone and feel fantastic. My confidence levels are at an all time high and I am a hit with the ladies! I get down on my hands and knees and thank you Maximuscle for making me believe that drastic changes can be made and that nothing is impossible.
Without your words of wisdom, I would still be the 10 1/2 weed that I was six months ago!!!
