Dan’s gymnastics career began when he was just 5 years old when his parents enrolled him into his local gym club in Corby, Northants. His father wanted him to follow his footsteps into kickboxing however gymnastics is where his coaches recognised his talent. He was moved to a dedicated boys club in Northampton then 2 years later advised to move to an elite facility in Huntingdon.
Dan's Honours:
He was then selected to join the British squad at the age of ten and competed for GB for the first time when he was 12 in Pennsylvania – USA finishing second. Dan has won a total of eight British All Around titles and claimed the Senior British All Round titles in 2007 aged 17. Keatings has represented Scotland as the 2006 Commonwealth Games and Great Britain at both the 2007 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the 2008 Summer Olympics
On 15 October 2009, Daniel made history when he became the first British gymnast to win a medal in the All-Around event at the Artistic World Championships. On 25 April 2010, Daniel made history again when he won Great Britain's first ever Senior European Championship Gold medal on the pommel horse the day after he helped Great Britain to win a historic silver medal in the team competition.
