Maximuscle would like to welcome onboard their Sponsorship programme, Bear Gyrlls, the youngest and one of only around thirty British Climbers to have ever successfully climbed Everest, the world's highest peak and returned alive!
In 1998 and at just 23 years old, this expedition led him straight into the Guinness Book of Records, an ascent that took 90 days in the most extreme weather conditions, which was made even more remarkable as prior to his expedition he suffered a free fall parachuting accident in Africa whilst serving with the British Special Air Service and broke his back in three places. His dream of climbing Everest kept him going and after many months of serve rehabilitation, he saw his dream finally come true. Prior to this, in 1997 he became the youngest Briton to climb Mount Ama Dablam in the Himalayas, a peak once described by Sir Edmund Hillary as 'unclimbable'.
After undertaking many different ground breaking expeditions and challenges over the years, many filmed for TV plus written about by Bear himself, Bear Gyrlls is now one of the youngest and most successful motivational speakers in the World.
Bear takes his fitness and sports nutrition very seriously and knows what it takes to stay in peak condition both mentally and physically to be able to not only undertake, but finish such extreme expeditions. Bear has been using Maximuscle products throughout his challenges and Maximuscle have currently been working closely with him in his preparation for his next event, a new TV series to be called 'Ultimate Survival' which see's Bear being dropped alone into some of the world's most inhospitable places, such as Costa Rica, Death Valley, Swamp Lands of Florida and the remote pacific Islands, equipped with nothing but the clothes on his back and endeavouring to escape alive! This series is being filmed by US Discovery Channel and will also be shown by Channel 4 later in the year.
