The British & Irish Lions made a winning start to their tour of New Zealand on Saturday 4th June 2005 with the final score board reading Bay of Plenty 20 V The Lions 34.
As the game begun, Lions fans soon realised this game was not going to disappoint as within the first ten minutes of the game beginning, commentators were excitedly calling Josh, "Lewsey the Lion" as he literally threw himself into the game scoring twice and was at the heart of the Lions attack, as they raced away to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter. Playing at full back, the Wasps and England International showed his true form, strength and power, with an imperious running game, hitting the line at pace and choosing some great running lines throughout the game, leading him to be named "Man of the Match" for his amazing performance.
