Before I joined my local gym, my diet was very poor and consisted of mainly fast food, I was over weight. In my early 20's I joined my local gym with a lady I used to work with and then from there I progressed gradually. I started becoming more aware of the foods I should be eating and started studying nutrition.

Through the years my body has become more toned and I have gained lean muscle tone. I regularly use Maximuscle’s Promax, Viper, Immune Support, and Protrient which have helped me get in shape and achieve my goals. I have 5-6 regular meals a day which consist of protein, good fats such as extra virgin olive oil or flaxseed and green vegetables. I train different muscle groups during each gym session and for CV fitness I either do interval training or boxing. I now have more energy and confidence... Its motivation which starts you off and habit that keeps you going!

As a part time martial arts instructor, it was hard for me to allow the fat reserves to build when having my first child. To breast feed, I needed to consume a lot of extra calories (mostly chocolate!) to supply sufficient milk. I first used Maximuscle products a few years ago, when I began exercising and eating healthily in order to lose weight – I ended up losing six stone! Then in April 06 the weight started to pile on again as crazy work shifts were playing havoc with my sleep patterns and my training went right out of the window.

Missing breakfast was a regular thing. You can imagine, as a full-time working mother with two children aged eight and four, there is little time left for me to think about looking after my diet. Snacking on the odd sausage sandwich or crisps was easy but it was not the best thing to keep me in shape or keep up my energy levels.

To be perfectly honest I was extremely sceptical about protein shakes and always thought that they were only for people looking to grow huge muscles. Then my friend introduced me to Promax and the benefits of eating small regular meals. I did my own research about Maximuscle and felt confident about their products mainly due to the information I read on their website and the fantastic feedback from other regular gym users.

My breakfast now consists of a banana, a handful of strawberries or blueberries and a scoop of banana Promax (mixed with a hand blender). Less than two mins to prepare start to finish and this simple delicious tasting shake keeps me going till mid morning. I also take Thermobol to burn fat faster as well as CLA to help with fat loss. When I feel hungry around mid morning, I have a yogurt mixed with Promax Natural which is a real favourite of mine.

I normally go to the gym during my lunch break which allows me to exercise three or four times a week but also lets me have a bit of “me time”. During my 40 mins gym session I use weights three times per week and then a mix cardio on the other day.

The key to the whole thing is to get organised and create a simple routine which fits your lifestyle and Promax and Promax Diet bars certainly make this really easy, convenient and enjoyable. I am constantly getting compliments from my friends about my improved body-shape and also have much more energy to deal with my young family.

I first learnt of Maximuscle products when I visited their website, I read about whey protein and I started off buying a cheap brand from my local health shop. I will say that I was put off buying my tub of protein in the gym as I felt intimidated by men looking at me laughing and thinking “why is she buying that? What is she trying to do, bulk up?” No. I just wanted a protein supplement to maintain my muscle tone and strength.

After a month the cheap protein brand I’d bought was really upsetting my stomach and made me feel bloated - so I thought ok, I read about Maximuscle all the time I will go into the shop and buy some Promax and forget this little cheap brand I have been buying and ignore what others think around me.

I went on holiday recently and I didn't fancy the pressure of having to prepare or buy five to six meals a day plus having protein powder on top. So, I tried Promax Diet which I would definitely recommend.

I had a normal breakfast in the morning and then Promax Diet mid-morning. I had a normal lunch and then Promax Diet again mid-afternoon followed by an evening meal. I am 37, a single mother and full-time firefighter. Along with my collegue, I will be competing in the World Police and Firefighter Games in Adelaide. I work a normal 9-5 job (yet seems more like 7am – 7pm!) as a Research Associate at a leading City investment company as well as studying towards a post graduate qualification. In March 2003, I was diagnosed with a Mengioma – a brain tumor – on my optic nerve which was slowly eating away at my eyesight. Following intensive radiotherapy, the specialists told me I would be so tired that I shouldn’t work full time or even train. Despite the warning, I continued to work full time and made myself workout, albeit at a lower intensity, as a way of helping my body stay strong and fight the tumour. The doctors are now confident that the growth of the tumour has stopped, due to my health and strength, and shouldn’t cause me any further problems.

I joke to my family that my body is like a Ferrari – a highly tuned machine – and if I fed it ordinary fuel I would not achieve the high level of performance I require from this machine. However, when I feed it superior fuels, like lean protein, complex carbs and quality sports nutrition from Maximuscle, I can achieve optimum performance and get the most out of my life. I have been training for a number of years I started doing the usual Aerobic classes and Step Aerobics but it was not until about 4 years ago that I started training with weights and changed my eating to having 6 small meals a day and using Maximuscle products. I have always been quite slim but dropped a dress size and can only put this down to the change in my training and eating.

In December 2004 I found out I was pregnant, which was fantastic news, I continued to train but obviously took things easy, I was determined to train as long as I felt comfortable and carried on using weights right up until I was 8 months pregnant, for the last month I swam and went to yoga.

I was very aware that being pregnant could be a good excuse to eat rubbish but I really did not want to go down that route, so continued to use Promax and Promax Bars in between main meals.

Two months after my daughter was born I went back to the gym. Within 5 months I was back to my pre pregnancy size.

I am now back at work and go to the gym in my lunch break; I train for 40 minutes 3 times a week. I also try to eat 6 small meals a day. My meals will include Promax for breakfast, which I have either with porridge or mixed with a banana. I will have another Promax mid morning with some fruit and Cyclone after training.

By using the products I know I am getting a healthy nutritional snack/meal it saves time preparing loads of food to take to work. It also stops me snacking on crisps and chocolate and if I need a burst of energy the Viper Extreme bars are great.
