Europe's leading sports nutrition brand Maximuscle has signed a sponsorship deal with the Russian International Rugby Union Team.
This new deal will see Maximuscle supply the Russian team with a selection of products from its comprehensive range of carefully developed nutrition supplements, helping them to see fast and effective results, maximise their sporting performance and help them to stay on top of their game. The squad will be making their first World Cup appearance at the forthcoming tournament in New Zealand and will look to start positively with a win in their mouth watering opening match against the USA.
Russia compete regularly in the European Nations Cup, and more recently, in the IRB Nations Cup.
The teams recent improvements came to the fore when they finished 2nd for the first time in their history in the 2006-2008 European Nations Cup First Division. They have cemented themselves in the top 20 nations in the world. As of May 10th 2010 they are ranked 19th in the IRB World Rankings. Russia also has a Rugby Sevens team who compete in the IRB World Sevens Series. Their biggest result as yet came in the 2006 London Sevens Tournament with a victory over Australia 21-5, with a hat-trick from Igor Galinovskiy.
