I am a laid back person but I am also very competitive. I’ve always been involved in sports like football, athletics and martial arts. I compete in MMA which is a combat sport where you can strike, wrestle and submit your opponent, it’s a culmination of all the top martial arts and combat sports rolled together.
I went to help a friend take a self defence class at Leicester Shoot Fighters and I met Dan Hardy and Paul Daley, and we got along straight away. I saw how well they were doing and thought if they can do it so can I. They invited me over to Nottingham to train with them and I haven’t stopped since.

I train twice a day 5 – 6 days a week. I try to get 3 strength and conditioning sessions, 3 striking sessions, 2 sparring sessions and 3-4 grappling sessions, I do my sprints and running outside of this schedule. My training will vary depending on how far I am away from the fight.
I love: GH Kick, Cyclone, Promax and Recovermax
I use GH Kick to give me that boost in the morning to get my body going as I find it hard to train early and have breakfast so I use the GH Kick as it’s only a drink and not heavy on my stomach and helps get my body in gear.
The Promax is great for after training when I need to get proteins back in my body. It’s really good because it has high amount of protein and not a lot of carbs, this drink is great to help your body when you’re cutting weight and tightening up your diet.I use Recovermax. It does what it says on the tin!
The highlight of my career was probably my first official fight in the UFC. It was in the UK (Manchester) at UFC 105 and I knocked out Roli Delgardo in the 1st round.
I have so many heroes but my short list would be Anderson Silva, Mike Tyson, B.J Penn, Vitor Belfort, Roy Jones Jr and Nigel Benn.
It’s rare that I have a day off but when I do I just like to relax play pool, listen to music or watch a movie, if I’m out of training camp (in other words not building up to a fight) then I may go out and party.
No matter what you do you can’t get away from pressure so you have to learn to embrace it, I just think to myself there are a lot of worse things that could be happening to me right now, I’m doing something I love and have worked hard for. All I have to do is go out there and do my best and enjoy it, plus I’m not fighting the world it’s just one guy who I can beat anyway, you have to believe that you are the best or can be the best, if you don’t what’s the point in fighting?
My favorite product is Chocolate Promax, it tastes great!
My future goals are to be filthy rich and never lose a fight again!
